Hannah Turner Duffin a British painter born in London, now based in Berlin.

Turner-Duffin studied at Turps Banana Painting Programme 2016-2018; The Prince’s

Drawing School (now The Royal Drawing School) 2009; BA Fine Art Falmouth School of Art

2007; as well as a PGCE in Art and Design from the IOE, London 2014.

She has recently been awarded a residency at Backsteinboot, Berlin 2026. Her work is held

in The Royal Collection at Windsor and Dumfries House, private collections internationally.

She has extensive teaching experience in formal and informal settings and has exhibited

widely.

Hannah Turner-Duffin’s practice whilst rooted in painting, incorporates craft, textile and

print-making techniques. Interested in creating cyclical life-spans for her paintings, each

stage or ́life’ is a result of ritualistic processes. Consumption of self within the act of painting

is central; particularly the meditative/obsessive and accumulative experience of making

through repetitive gestures and the devotional dialogue that it creates. Drawing on both

physical and metaphysical landscapes, she uses plants and rocks as recurring motifs that

carry associations of memory, folklore, and lived experience.
